Curtain Call Ending Sounds

I seem to have more students having trouble hearing sounds this year.  So I started work on some literacy activities that can be used to develop listening to the ending sounds in words.  I started out with just a few letters and sounds, but then decided I may as well make an entire set.    The set includes ending sound posters, ending sound sorting cards & a sorting mat, and ending sounds worksheets.  The set can be purchased as an entire collection, or purchased separately if you don’t need all the components.  I’ve placed them in my store at Teachers pay Teachers.  My store is slowly growing, but I’m getting the hang of making what I need for my students, and hope that others can use them with their students.

Candy Corn Sight Words

 

I love this time of the year.  The colors are vibrant and look so yummy!  So…what do you do when you LOVE candy corn, but you can’t eat any??  You make some cute things for your classroom.

I will have to get some file folders and cardstock because I have none at home, but here’s the plan…

October Treats

October is filled with learning activities!  Fire Safety Week, Columbus Day, Halloween.  This year we are going to focus on seasons, AMSTI trees, and nocturnal animals.  I am already planning a camp site for my classroom since we will be in the “woods,” and looking for animals that are awake at night. 

I found this cute handprint on Pinterest for a fire safety art activity,  

and a cute graham cracker fire truck for a cooking project.

      

Columbus Day is the 12^th which means we will make puppets and illustrate pictures of the Nina, Pinta, and the Santa Maria on Friday! 

Last, I’ve made a simple letter match using pumpkins and cats.  This activity includes only the first 6 letters we are learning in Reading Street.  It’s a free download from TpT…hope you enjoy it.  Click on the link under the preview.

Pete the Cat and Technology

My co-teachers and I are going to begin the school year with a little love from Pete the Cat.  We have a set of iPads to share among 3 teachers, so I thought I would make some QR codes that would make our literacy stations POP with Pete’s Groovy Buttons!  The kinders will use a QR reader to find out what word Pete needs to find, and then look for the button card with that word.  Self-checking is provided with the addition of a QR code on both cards!  Flash cards for concentration are also included in this set.

I can’t upload my files to TpT or Teacher’s Notebook because the QR codes make the files a tad larger than the 200 mb allowed.
