Leaf Man

Fall is my favorite season.  Cooler air, colorful leaves, Harvest festivals, pumpkin patches, and more!  So, to welcome fall in South Alabama, we read Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert.
Thanks to some great moms & some fantastic 6th grade helpers, the pieces for our leaf men were cut (the kids could have done the cutting, but this year I have several children with fine motor troubles, and our leaf man was a lot of cutting!

Next week our marvelous moms are going to hang our leaf men from the hall ceiling and finish making some cute trees down the kindergarten hallway.  Once the fall hall is completed, our nocturnal animals will join the fun.

I’ll share photos & a pattern of our leaf man later…I left my camera and my leaf man pattern at school.  I can tell you he has an acorn head, and a leaf body.  The arms & legs are smooth sided leaf shapes, the hands are a cute leaf shape, and the feet are more acorns.  We add wiggle eyes and a paper acorn shape for the nose.
